Time for HD change
Procom is a Chicago land based company installing and servicing cameras since 1993. After all these years, the time for High Definition security cameras has finally arrived. Analog and IP cameras are slowly becoming obsolete. Both types of cameras are limited by their maximum resolution of 704 x 480 (called D1). Resolution is the most important part in the CCTV business. For unknown reasons people are confusing IP cameras with HD cameras. All HD or Megapixel cameras are naturally IP cameras. IP cameras are almost the same as analog cameras with the difference where compression of the picture takes place. Analog camera pictures are compressed and changed to a digital format at a DVR level. IP cameras are compressing pictures at the camera and sending the compressed images to the NVR (Network Video Recorder).

Within one year, this process contributed to the arrests of over 100 offenders who may have otherwise gone unidentified.
