Steps for viewing live demos through your computer
Think of it this way...suppose you wanted to download a trial version of a software package before you buy. Company's offer their wares to 'test drive' with the expectation that you'll like what you see and buy. Similarly, we want you to check out our systems, at your convenience, from the comfort of your own computer so you can experience the advantages and quality of a number of products which we represent.
To this end, we ask you follow a few steps which will be required so that your computer can provide the full benefit of demo experience. These benefits allow you to switch between different camera types, watch single or multiple (up to 16) camera views, and importantly, review the recorded history from the camera you are viewing! The images you will be viewing are live so what you see is in real time and you are able to manipulate the system as if it were your own.
Browser Set-Up (I.E. v.6/v.7)
Trusted sites: Internet Explorer (I.E.) v.6 and v.7 don't want you to unintentionally bring in garbage from sites you don't trust as part of its security setup. We've invited you to visit our site (cctvchicago.com) to view products and, in this instance, view demos. In order accomplish this task, I.E. must identify cctvchicago as a trusted site and, among their feaures, under "Tools,' 'Internet Options' allows you to do this; here's how...
Click on Tools tab of Internet Explorer (at the top) and then select Internet Option...
The screen below opens and we want to select the Security Tab...
Next we click the Trusted sites icon (the check mark) and then select the Sites button...
In the next screen that appears, Type in: http://*.cctvchicago.com and then
click on the Add button...cctvchicago.com will be added to other (if any) sites you have
You can now close Close the 'Trusted Sites' window...
This returns you to the Internet Options window. Click 'Custom level'
Scroll to 'Download unsigned ActiveX controls' and select Prompt...This
safety feature instructs your computer to notify you if ActiveX controls are triggered...
Now scroll down to the 'Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls' and select 'Enable'. This feature prompts
you for the ability to accept or reject ActiveX controls that may be required for an application. Click OK
Now you will be prompted to accept the changes you've made...
Because these measures alert you to ActiveX message, select Yes
OK! Congratulations, you're now set up for accepting the software you'll need for the Demo.
